Ever since I was an art kid in high school in the 80's and I saw for my first time the editorial images captured by Peter Lindbergh, Herb Ritts, et al., I was enamored and inspired by their photographic treatment of the human body as it related to our then less frightening interpretation of the ideal than the ill-guided infatuation with the waif, gaunt figure that followed. Fueled by exposure to these images coupled with my love and admiration for Greek sculpture, I bit into the apple and believed I too could look like that. So began my pursuit of the superficial. You see, I thought I could be one of the guys in those images, but try as I may have, life was never in the right place at the right time for me, so I have only been able to live vicariously through my deep seated, exhibitionist alter ego not unlike that of Ben Stiller's Zoolander. I was equally inspired and enamored by the great films of that period, namely The New Hollywood Era, but none more than those of Golden Era Hollywood and the tremendous personalties that defined it. These two elements have created a dynamic synergy within me that grows more powerful with every new day. Combine these elements with the desire I have to be among them out of my love and respect for the process, and you've hit a trifecta not unlike that of George Costanza's television, pastrami sandwiches, and, well, you'll have to catch the rerun.
